Our new glossary is now live on our website, helping readers understand some of the terms commonly used in health and care research.
The glossary was inspired by an idea from a Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) group who reviewed our new website. Their feedback highlighted an opportunity to make research terminology more accessible and easier to understand for everyone.
It’s been great to see this suggestion develop from an idea into a practical resource. The glossary includes plain-English definitions of terms used across health and care research, from applied research and co-production to lived experience and research impact.
The glossary is one example of how involving patients and members of the public in shaping our work can help make research more inclusive and accessible.
