Do you have an idea, even a half-formed one, for research on ageing?
The Ageing Research Café offers a supportive space to explore your idea with public partners who can bring lived experience, fresh perspectives and valuable insight.
These informal online sessions are an opportunity to talk through your research idea without the pressure of a formal presentation. There are no slides required, just a chance to have an open conversation and get feedback that could help you develop and strengthen your thinking.
The sessions aim to help researchers develop research that is relevant, inclusive and grounded in the experiences of the people it aims to benefit.
What to expect
- A 45-minute informal conversation with public partners
- The opportunity to share an early-stage research idea
- Fresh perspectives and insight from lived experience
- Support to shape your idea and consider public involvement from the outset
- No slides or formal presentation required
Who is it for?
The café is open to UK-based researchers working on research related to ageing. Your idea can be at any stage – you don’t need to have a fully developed research proposal.
The Ageing Research Café is facilitated by Professor Vicki Goodwin MBE, Professor of Ageing and Rehabilitation at the University of Exeter, and Naomi Morley, Operational Lead for Research Inclusion; and is supported by funding from the Vivensa Foundation Senior Leader Academy Excellence Award.
How to take part
If you would like to bring your research idea to the café, complete the short registration form outlining your idea and the questions you’d like to explore with the public partners. The team will then be in touch with further information.
