Biography
I joined ARC South West at the University of Plymouth in October 2026, where I work within the Prevention Theme, focusing on Neighbourhood Health.
I am an interdisciplinary researcher with expertise in qualitative and mixed-methods research across health and social care settings. Working with policymakers, healthcare providers and VCSE organisations, I focus on redressing inequalities in health and social care to improve outcomes for everyone. I am particularly interested in how people from underserved and seldom-heard groups experience health and healthcare services, and how these insights can inform the design and delivery of more equitable, accessible and person-centred services.
My previous research has focused on sexual and reproductive health and rights, Reproductive Justice, forced displacement, alternative care, food insecurity, climate action and child-centred justice. My ESRC-funded PhD at the University of Southampton, which focused on contraceptive autonomy among adolescent migrant girls in forced displacement.
Prior to joining ARC South West, I was awarded an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Institute for Inspiring Children’s Futures (IICF) at the University of Strathclyde, where I continue to serve as an Honorary Research Fellow.
