Research Inclusion Advisory Group

Supporting inclusive research across ARC South West

The Research Inclusion Advisory Group provides strategic oversight and independent advice on ARC South West’s approach to research inclusion.

The group brings together people with lived experience, system knowledge, professional expertise and independent perspectives to help ensure that inclusion is embedded throughout our research. By bringing together a diverse range of voices and experiences, the group supports ARC South West to identify opportunities, challenge assumptions and strengthen our commitment to reducing inequalities through research.

The Research Inclusion Advisory Group plays an important role in helping us:

  • Promote inclusive research practices across ARC South West
  • Improve opportunities for participation and involvement in research
  • Ensure research addresses the needs of underserved and underrepresented communities
  • Monitor progress against our Research Inclusion Strategy
  • Share learning and identify opportunities for continuous improvement

The group provides oversight and guidance to support ARC South West in delivering research that is equitable, inclusive and relevant to the communities we serve.

Building the Group

We are currently establishing the Research Inclusion Advisory Group and developing its membership.

The group will bring together representatives from across health and care, academia, community organisations and public contributors to provide a broad range of perspectives and expertise.

Further information on the group’s membership, priorities and activities will be shared as the group develops.

The group will be chaired by Dr Thandiwe Hara, Regional Innovation and Research Policy Manager, University of Oxford.
